Seattle Wine Blog

This blog is dedicated to commentary on all aspects of wine, especially short entries to help you find the best wines without the usual hype and spin. These are my frank, independent opinions, usually based on tasting wine at a public event, off the shelf or at the winery. Thanksgiving Wine Emergency

Okay, so you're desperate. You haven't got your wine for Thanksgiving. Do not fear! There are two quick and easy solutions. First, go to your nearest convenience store or gas station. Odds are they have Columbia Crest Chardonnay and Columbia Crest Merlot. Second, go to your local state liquor store and try 2002 Columbia Crest Semillon/Chardonnay. It may be a little old, but at $4 who can complain. Also, 1999 Columbia Crest Grenache is still available at $4 and should be great with Turkey. It's light, fruity style, would be perfect with the Thanksgiving repast. Oh, and by the way, if you head for a supermarket or wine shop, look for McCrea Viognier.
