Seattle Wine Blog

This blog is dedicated to commentary on all aspects of wine, especially short entries to help you find the best wines without the usual hype and spin. These are my frank, independent opinions, usually based on tasting wine at a public event, off the shelf or at the winery. Terroir Quote

I keep turning up quotes on art museum wall panels that seem to apply to wine. Can this be coincidence?

"A place can never be defined, change is not the screen of science, but of poetry, art and myth."

This is not a coincidence. Béla Hamvas, the Hungarian philosopher was a great wine lover. He wrote a marvellous book about the trancendent nature of wine with this title: "The Philosophy of Wine".
I am really happy that you quoted from from him.

I had a little trouble finding it in English. Do you have any suggestions? Gene

See here: http://editiom.hu/ - there s an English section, you ll see.
They published it in several languages. If you mail to them, and don t get a feedback don t give up: they are a bit slow communicators. But the book will worth the effort, I promise!
